BA’s Alex Turner Camacho – Tulsa Tech Athlete Spotlight

Broken Arrow High School senior Alex Turner Camacho is a soccer player and a student at Tulsa Tech where he is enrolled in the Advanced Pre-Engineering Program at the Lemley Campus. As a student at Broken Arrow, Turner Camacho is a member of the varsity soccer team and he plays club ball for Energy FC.

Turner Camacho said he wanted a head start on his education and Tulsa Tech was the place that could provide that.

“I wanted a head start in engineering in a professional, productive environment. Tulsa Tech is an amazing school and environment for learning and then applying knowledge,” said Turner Camacho. “I’m currently in Engineering Design and Development and first semester I had Civil Engineering and Architecture. Last year I took Digital Electronics and Aerospace engineering. I wanted to try out different types of engineering and find something I am interested in. Through the Tulsa Tech classes I gained a liking for Aerospace Engineering and the engineering process in general.”

The staff at Tulsa Tech is another reason Turner Camacho has enjoyed his time in the program.

“One thing I like is how productive and dedicated the staff and students are. Tulsa Tech has great equipment, attentive and motivated students and amazing supportive teachers. I have not had a bad experience with a teacher at Tulsa Tech,” said Turner Camacho.

His future plans include playing more soccer and pursuing a degree in college.

“I love to play soccer and hope I can continue doing so in college. As of now, I am considering going to a junior college or a cheaper college to play soccer while taking basic classes. Then I hope to transfer to a college or university and study Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering,” said Turner Camacho.

Tulsa Tech is giving students like Turner Camacho the opportunity to lay a foundation which he can build on as his level of education advances. Turner Camacho said, “there are so many great classes that can benefit you in your adult life. Tulsa Tech really feels like a college or university.”
