Bixby’s Mason Moser & Kyle Musser – Raising Cane’s Superfan Winners

By Derrick Smith

If you find yourself at a Bixby Spartan athletic event, there is a pretty good chance that Mason Moser and Kyle Musser will catch your eye. And it would not be because they are participating in the game. Mason and Kyle were voted the winners of the Tulsa Area Superfan Award sponsored by Cane’s Chicken.

“Having school spirit is important because it brings people together and builds unlikely relationships,” Moser said. “It gives students something to come together for, instead of being divided as a lot of things are nowadays.”

Kyle and Mason are both seniors at Bixby High School. Musser does not currently play any sports but he is a legion leader. Moser is not currently involved in any athletics but did play golf for the Spartans until last year.

Over the years, the duo has attended numerous games and events, but for Musser, the school’s football dominance has been one of his favorite memories.

“I love watching the Spartan football team dominate throughout the years,” Kyle said. “Being able to witness three consecutive state championships and develop lifelong friendships along the way have made my high school years the best.”

Mason says that one of the best things about being a Spartan is how it feels like a family.

“I enjoy the small-town feel we’ve been able to maintain as a school despite how large our student body is,” he said. “And how much it continues to grow each year. I still feel like I can put a name to nearly every face in the school.”

With their days of being students at Bixby coming to an end, both guys has their eyes set on the future.

“Bixby has given me four years of great memories,” said Mason. “I am thankful to have been a part of such a great school. I can’t wait to see what our sports do in the future, knowing that this is only the beginning.”

Musser echoed his classmate’s thoughts.

“I am really going to miss Bixby High School,” he said. “If I had one word of advice, it would be to cherish every moment of it and make the most out of everything you do and most of all have fun before it is over.”
