Cascia Hall’s Aiden Robinson – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By RH91 Tucker Tennis Academy

By Derrick Smith

Aiden Robinson began playing tennis when he was six years old. He has made a lot of growth and progress over the years, but he says that something that has been a huge asset for him has been the Tucker Tennis Academy.

“My parents found out about TTA and moved me there from Southern Hills,” he stated. “It has done everything for my game. The coaches and players there make me better every day in all aspects of my game.”

TTA is a full-time tennis academy and after school program for all levels. The athletes are taught various skills and mechanics to make them the best tennis players that they can be. They begin at the basics and continue to work their way up with the end goal of becoming an outstanding college tennis player.

Robinson is a senior at Cascia Hall, where he plays number one singles in tennis for the Commandos. He also plays two other sports outside of school, basketball and golf.

Throughout his time with TTA, Aiden has made a lot of great memories, both on the court and away from it. He says that an out of state trip is at the top of his list.

“Traveling to Kalamazoo and clay courts and being able to play doubles there with one of my best friends is my favorite moment,” he said. “But honestly, I have enjoyed all of my time at the academy.”

While he loves the game of tennis, Robinson says that one of his biggest role models is a top athlete from another sport.

“Russell Westbrook is someone that I look up to,” he stated. “He is a role model for me because of his work ethic and how he always gives one hundred and ten percent whenever he steps on the court. Someone else that has made a big impact on me is Miss Grounds. I was with her for six years and she helped me mature into the person that I am today.”

Along with athletics, Aiden is also a member of the Investment Club, Key Club, and he served as a mentor last year. Once he graduates, he plans to continue his education and tennis career at the University of Oklahoma.
