Bishop Kelly’s Alec Rule – athlete spotlight presented by racket and health 91

Bishop Kelley tennis has a team of four returning varsity players from a group that finished fourth in the 6A 2021 season, including senior Alec Rule.

“Alec is the quiet leader of this program. His freshman year he finished third in 5A #2 singles and last year as a junior won the 6A #1 doubles with partner Ben Jones. Along with being a strong tennis player, Alec performs outstandingly in our Brother Bernadine Scholars program,” said Bishop Kelley tennis coach Terry Stupp.

Rule has played tennis for 10 years and got into it by watching pros like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal play.

“What I like most about competing is the high energy atmosphere,” said Rule. “Some of my favorite tennis memories include hanging out with all of my friends during summer drills and winning the state championship freshman year.”

Rule is also part of the Trent Tucker Tennis Academy at RH91 (Racquet & Health) in Tulsa to improve his game.

“I have learned so much from my time at RH91, but one thing that sticks out to me the most is how to have a winning mindset,” he said. “Whether you are playing tennis, competing for a job opportunity, or engaging in other activities, I have learned through my time at RH to embrace any challenge and push myself to be the version of myself I can be.”

Along with tennis, Rule also enjoys playing ping pong and basketball. He is involved in his school’s Spanish club and loves hanging out with the people there. After high school, Alec has committed to play collegiate tennis at Dallas Baptist University and pursue a business degree.
