Graduation is playing a role in the Trojans lineup early in the season as head coach Todd Williams looks to replace several players lost to graduation.

“We graduated four, four-year starters, but have our top two pitchers returning. We will have a good mix of returning upperclassmen to lead some very talented incoming young players. If we can get our younger players to come in and compete at a high level, we have a chance to be very successful this season,” said coach Williams.

Kayla Adams (P, 3B, Sr.) went 19-8 with an ERA of 1.92 last season. Coach Williams said he likes her chances against any opponent the Lady Trojan face.

“Kayla gives us a chance to beat anyone with the job that she does in the circle. She is very competitive and does not like to lose. Her presence at the plate can be intimidating to opposing pitchers. Kayla hit .370 last season and I expect that to climb this season. She has been putting in the work and leading by example this summer. If that continues to be the case, she should have a very good senior year,” said coach Williams.

Paige Williams (CF, Sr.) makes the move to the outfield this season where her speed will come into play.

“She missed both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She returned last season and after a slow start at the plate finished with a .345 average. She will move to CF this season because of her speed and athleticism. She led the team with 11 steals without being thrown out,” said coach Williams.

McKenzie Cothran (3B, C, Jr.) hit .280 last season with eight doubles and two homeruns while starting 15 games as a catcher and has developed into a quality third baseman. “This past season McKenzie started at third base and has quietly become one of the best third basemen in the state of Oklahoma. It is not only the spectacular plays she makes, it is the range she can cover, and the cannon she has for a right arm! It is very fun to watch her play defense,” said Williams.

If you’re looking for power at the plate, look no further than Paiton Hedges (C, 1B, So.) who hit .524 pinch hitting and in DP roles.

“She will catch and play first base this season and we are looking for some big things from her at the plate. Improved tremendously in the field this past spring during the slow-pitch Season,” said Williams.

Avery Brewer (1B, OF, Sr.) hit .295 with six doubles, a triple and three home runs. Another senior in Natalie Rodman (SS, Sr.) hit .302 with six doubles, adding 10 stolen bases. Aubree Vickery (1B, Jr.) enjoyed an outstanding sophomore year hitting .316 with three doubles. Cali Worsham (UT, Jr.) went 5-2 in the circle with an ERA of 2.73. Other players to watch this season include Jena Hendrix (OF, Sr.), Laila Emerson (2B, OF, Jr.), Sam Painter (OF, Jr.), Jordyn Cook (IF, So.), Ava Faust (OF, So.), Kennedy Joiner (OF, So.), Jessie Amman (UT, Fr.), Brylie Blossom (OF, Fr.), Josie Jervis (IF, Fr.), Bella Rodman (P, IF, Fr.), Danika West (1B, Fr.), and Christy Wisnoski (OF, Fr.).
