Bixby Spartans Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Fieldhouse Gear

Coach: Lance Kight
21-22 Record: 7-15

The Spartans had a rough season a year ago, but they enter this season with a clean slate and ready to surprise some people. They bring back four starters from last season’s team that combined to average 65 points per game. They will look for similar production this season to help them improve over last season. Great team chemistry will also play a big part in the Spartan’s success.

Leading the team again this season will be Parker Friedrichsen (6-3, Sr.), who has committed to play basketball at Notre Dame. Last season, he averaged 28.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists and is currently ranked as a top 125 player in the nation by Rivals. Joining Friedrichsen will be Sam McCormick (6-4, Jr.), who is an outstanding rebounder and defender. He is also a two-way starter for the Bixby football team.

An up-and-coming player to watch for is Triston Driver (6-0, So.). Driver is a tremendous three-point shooter and passer and he could cause matchup problems for opponents. Luke Friedrichsen (5-11, Jr.) shot 53% from the three-point line as a sophomore and is expected to be even better this season. He also does an outstanding job as a ball handler. Other Spartans that will contribute this season are Jonah Surman (6-5, Sr.), Rylan Antle (6-2, Jr.), and Cooper Fiske.
