The Trojans finished last season in the quarterfinals of the state tournament, leaving them with a hunger for more. Head coach Ryan Hendricks believes the team has the players to not only be competitive, but to grab another spot in the tournament and compete for a title. 

“We return six starters from last year’s team and from the 2021 state championship team. We have a lot of talented players that have the varsity experience to make a serious run at another state championship. We have a lot of strong arms on the mound. Power at the plate. And speed on the bases,” said coach Hendricks. 

One player to watch is Logan Tibbett, who will play a crucial role in the pitching rotation and double as catcher. Tibbett has a bat that comes to life, and he is one of the team captains this season. 

Chandler Fowler is another team captain to watch this season. Fowler is back for this senior season and his third year of varsity baseball. A good arm and power at the plate makes him dangerous from the bump or at the plate. 

When Tibbett takes the mound, look for sophomore Jackson Franklin to be behind the plate. Strong arm and quick hands make him likely to throw out any would-be base stealers. 

Evan Fraser is a senior this season and another player returning with tremendous experience. Fraser will start in center field and see time in the pitching rotation.
