Nathan Hale’s Jeradiah Hernandez – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Tulsa Tech

Tulsa Tech offers a variety of programs to students that will allow them to get hands-on experience in a career they are interested in. Jeradiah Hernandez is a student at the Broken Arrow campus and he first became interested in Tulsa Tech when he found out they had a program that he was very much interested in.

“I heard about tech through my school,” he said. “And when they told me that it
could help me learn more about cars, I immediately wanted to sign up.”

Jeradiah is in the Automotive Maintenance Light Repair program. It was a personal situation that helped him realize that this program would be great for him.

“When my car broke down, I quickly realized I knew nothing about them,” he stated. “I wanted to learn more and be able to do the work myself.” Hernandez says that he would recommend Tulsa Tech to anyone that has an idea of what career path they want to pursue.

“The skills I am learning at tech are things I probably would not have learned otherwise,” Jeradiah said. “You have to choose what you are going to love doing and it will be helpful in the long run.”

In his junior year at Nathan Hale High School, Jeradiah plays football and runs track. He has made a lot of memories throughout his sports career, but he has one moment that stands out.

“My most memorable moment in sports right now is when my coach took me and another athlete on a three-hour trip for a state meet,” he said. “I’ve never seen soo much speed and talent in one spot.”

There have been a number of people that have impacted his life, but Hernandez says that there are a few that have had a bigger impact.

“Since coming into high school in August 2020 as a freshman, I have had a lot of coaches come and go,” he said. “But coach Williams, coach Ivy, coach Irvin, and coach Petters have influenced me to be great and never settle for less.”
