Glenpool’s Jenny Reed – Mom of the Month – Presented by RibCrib

Glenpool High School

Mother of two, Jenny Reed, is originally a graduate of Bristow High School, but is raising her kids in the Glenpool school district.

“I graduated from Bristow High School. It was very much a sport loving town and I loved growing up there,” said Reed.

Oldest daughter, Calista, is a member of the varsity soccer team and youngest son Denton is in the seventh grade. This year Reed is involved in the booster club and believes parents should be involved with their kids’ activities.

“This year as co-president I’m doing a little of everything but mainly help with fundraising, senior banners and senior night, end of year banquet. I’m lucky to have a great group of officers that are always willing to step up and help. None of it could be done without this group of great ladies,” said Reed. “I think kids like to know someone is in the stands rooting for them and wanting to help make the program they love a success. Volunteering is the best way to do that.”

Showing support to the student-athletes is important to Reed and other parent volunteers.

“Soccer doesn’t always get the recognition that other sports get but these girls work hard. I enjoy trying to make the banquet or senior night extra special so that the girls feel appreciated and like they are important,” said Reed.

In her free time, Reed said she enjoys reading, walking her dog Sandee, and spending time with family.
