Jenks High School
When Quinn Leos of Jenks High School started playing tennis, she was only six years old. Her father’s involvement in the sport made it a natural activity to pick up for the young Leos.
“I started playing tennis when I was around six years old. I’ll be playing No. 2 singles for Jenks this year. My dad has been my biggest influence in my life both on and off the court. Growing up he played competitive and professional tennis, so learning from him has been one of the luckiest opportunities of my career,” said Leos.
Tennis is the only sport Leos has competed in as a youth or in high school. With any sport the time spent developing and perfecting the craft seems endless. Leos spends her fair share of time working and improving her skills for the court.
“I spend about 10 hours on the court a week. I think my aggressive side of my game style has seen the biggest improvement so far this year,” said Leos.
Representing Jenks High School carries its own weight as the girls team has amassed 19 state titles as a team and numerous individual titles with the last team title coming in 2023.
“I love the different people being a student-athlete introduces you to. Sometimes your teammates aren’t always the friends you’d hangout with and it helps you get out of your comfort zone and meet new people,” said Leos.
This season Leos said there are two players who really stand out, and they are new to competing at the varsity level.
“I think everyone is impressed with our No. 2 doubles this year. They are both new to varsity as well as a new pairing together, and so far, they are undefeated,” said Leos.
After graduating from Jenks HS, Leos plans to attend college and study pre-law. Away from the court and school you can usually find Leos with friends or reminiscing about her favorite place to play.
“I enjoy hanging out with my friends, going to concerts and traveling in my free time. My favorite place I’ve competed was The University of San Diego. I was playing Girls 16s National Hard Courts and the location, weather, and environment was super cool to experience,” said Leos.
