Sapulpa’s Bailey Webb Athlete Spotlight Presented by Rib Crib

As sports fans, we love a good mascot or squad with a good name. The Sapulpa Ping Ping’s are exactly that.

Probably the most unique name in Oklahoma, kids grow up in Sapulpa watching the famed Ping Ping dance team, dreaming about being part of that group. The same can be said for Bailey Webb.

“I’m currently a senior, and I knew I wanted to become a Ping Ping around 3rd grade. Probably when I watched one of their performances or went to a clinic! The energy and excitement they brought to the dance floor really inspired me,” said Webb.

Being a Ping Ping is not easy work. Countless hours of practice are required from the members.

“We spend a lot of time perfecting our routines. Practice is typically 7am everyday or even 6:15am. We also have extra rehearsals around state and nationals. There’s also time spent outside of practice submitting videos, going over corrections, and reviewing choreography on our own,” said Webb.

Webb said she loves being around her teammates and shares a special bond with them.

“What I love most about my teammates is our bond. We push each other to be better, both in dance and in life. Everyone is super supportive, and we genuinely have fun together, even during the tough practices. They love unconditionally and I know I can always count on them,” said Webb.

Being a Ping Ping is special to everyone involved. For Webb, it’s also about leaving a legacy for future generations.

“Being a Ping Ping is special to me because it’s more than just dancing. It’s about representing my school and being part of a legacy. We get to perform in front of our community and make memories that will last a lifetime. I love how I get to represent the white boots at games,” said Webb.

At school, Webb is part of the leadership team and is very involved in school and community activities. The senior said her mother is a big inspiration.
“One person that inspires me is my mom. She is always my biggest cheerleader at every competition, and I strive to be just like her one day. She has always worked very hard in her life, and she pushes our family to become the best versions of ourselves,” said Webb.

When she has some down time, Webb said she enjoys being with her friends.

“In my free time, I love to be around people, whether it’s hanging out with friends, listening to music, or practicing new dance moves. I also enjoy reading new books,” said Webb.
As for life after high school?
“After high school, I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma. I’d love to continue dancing in some way, whether it’s on a college team or just for fun. I also want to study something along the lines of sports medicine,” said Webb.
