Broken Arrow Cheer – Team Spotlight

Every year cheer squads around Oklahoma look to the new seniors to grow and mature into leadership roles. After losing several seniors to graduation, head coach Krystin Delehanty felt this could quickly become a rebuild year, but the new class stepped up in a big way. “Last year Broken Arrow varsity cheer graduated 15 seniors so coming into this cheer season we figured it would be a rebuilding year, but these kids have proved us wrong. This team is hard working and extremely talented,” said coach Delehanty. “We have a young team this year which is great from a coaches perspective because we get to keep so much of our team heading into future seasons. We can’t wait to watch the team grow this year.”

One of the members who has taken on a leadership role is Emma Riley. “Emma is such a hardworking, kind, and extremely talented young lady. She is one of our best tumblers, bases, jumpers, and leaders on this team. She is an incredible role model and has so much talent to go with it,” said coach Delehanty.

One area the Broken Arrow cheer squad is focused on is making good grades in the classroom and being role models for their peers to follow. Natalie Morgan certainly stands out in the capacity. Morgan is a junior and an outstanding representation of a student-athlete.

Last season Broken Arrow finished a few points behind Owasso in the Large Co-Ed competition. This season the Tigers are ready to take on another stacked field of Co-Ed schools competing for the state title.
