Tulsa Memorial Chargers Basketball Preview – Presented By Tulsa Tech

Coach: Bobby Allison

20-21 Record: 18-4

After making it to the state tournament last season, and returning several starters, expectations are sky high for the Tulsa Memorial Chargers. “This is the most experienced team we have had in quite a long time,” says Tulsa Memorial head coach Bobby Allison. “Five guys are back that started at least 15 games and expectations are high to reach our full potential. We had a great 2020 season but didn’t reach our ultimate goal. That has fueled us to with great motivation throughout the off-season and summer to get better every day on and off the court.” Point guard Ty Frierson (5-11, Sr.) is back after averaging 17.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game last year. “Ty has played in big games and made big plays over his career,” says Allison. “He grew up wanting to be a Memorial Charger and he has a chance to end his career as an all-time Charger.”

Bradyn Hubbard (6-6, Sr.) is also back for another run at a gold ball. He averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks his junior year. Killian Spellman (6-4, Sr.) is also back for his senior year after averaging 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. Guard Seth Pratt (6-3, Jr.) returns after averaging 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. “Seth is the ultimate gym rat and student athlete,” says Allison. “He has a 4.0 GPA and has to make 500 shots a day before he leaves the gym. His future is bright. He has scored more points in his first two years of varsity basketball at Memorial than anyone in the last 20 years.” Two key transfers for Memorial are Domonic Turner (6-4, Sr.) from Cushing and Jarreth Ingram (6-7, Jr.) from NOAH. Both players averaged over 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds last year. Ronnie Dixon (6-2, Sr.), James Green (6-6, Sr.), Montae Collins (5-10, Jr.), and Ty Jamerson (6-0, Jr.) are also expected to play key roles for Tulsa Memorial this season.
