Coweta Football Preview: Offense – Presented by BancFirst Coweta

Head Coach – Tim Harper

2021: 10-2

Tim Harper and the Coweta Tigers have had a string of successful years with playoff appearances and expect that trend to continue in 2022. The Tigers have a run-first mentality on offense but will be replacing a group of veterans on the offensive line. Harper and his coaching staff is confident that they will have things rolling early in the season. Newcomer, Carson Laverty (6-0, 185, Sr.), is a dual threat at quarterback with great pocket awareness and will make an immediate impact for the Tigers. He transfers in from Putnam City North where he had racked up over 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns in his career. Mason Ford (5-9, 175, Sr.) and Will Mason (6-1, 215, Sr.) are a two-headed monster in the backfield. In three years, Ford has over 5,000 total yards in his career, nearly 50 touchdowns, and is an impact player on special teams, with six scores as a return man. Mason has exceeded 2,000 thus far to go along with 16 touchdowns. Lolo Bell (5-9, 190, Jr.) rushed for over 500 yards on his own in 2021. Kevon Robinson (6-1, 185, Jr.) provides a reliable receiving target for Laverty and had 500 yards and six touchdowns last season. Na’Kylan Starks (5-9, 180, Sr.) is an athlete, plain and simple, and can score from anywhere on the field. Heading into his senior season he has combined for over 2,000 total yards and 20 touchdowns. Expect the Tigers to spread the ball out a bit more this season and take advantage of mismatches.
