Head Coach – Christian Hood
2021: 4-7
The last time the Catoosa Indian football team made it out of the first round of the playoffs was during the 2014 football season. Since then, they have made some playoff appearances but have struggled. Now, with a season under his belt at the helm, Catoosa head coach Christian Hood is optimistic about the upcoming season and is ready to see what his squad can do. “Last year we were able to improve as the season went on and we’re looking forward to carrying that momentum into the 2022 season,” Hood said. “We have a lot of productive seniors to replace from last year’s team but we’re excited about the potential some of our younger athletes have. Earning a playoff berth last season was great for our current squad to get that postseason experience and see for ourselves what level we need to reach if we want to go farther this season.” Returning to play quarterback will be Russel Duggar (6-2, 220, Sr.), who passed for 827 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for 230 yards and two scores a year ago. Joining him in the backfield will be running back Legend Lor (5-7, 190, Jr.). A year ago, he carried the ball for 137 yards and had two total touchdowns, but he will be looking to make a bigger impact on the field for the Indians this season. Wide receiver and running back Mike Barnett (5-9, 180, Sr.) along with wide receiver Deandre Hamilton (6-1, 180, So.) will work to be scoring and big-play threats. Avery Riley (5-11, 270, Jr.) and Jayden Salyer (5-10, 315, Jr.) will maintain things on the offensive line.
