Jenks Trojans Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by BancFirst

Coach: Will Seymour

2021-22 Record: 6-16

Head coach Will Seymour takes over the Jenks Lady Trojan basketball program this season after seven seasons with Okemah. Seymour is excited for the new opportunity and is looking to get Jenks back on course after a disappointing ‘21-22 season. “I am bringing a work ethic and toughness to this team,” Seymour said. “They have been working hard during the offseason and we are excited to see what we can do in year one.”

Leading the way for the Lady Trojans is VYPE Top 100 athlete Jill Twiehaus (Jr.). Twiehaus is already drawing attention from college programs and will continue her playing career at the next level as she continues to improve every day. Twiehaus is currently ranked as the third best player in the class of 2024 and is a do-it-all player. The sky’s the limit for her. Look for Twiehaus to set the tone for Jenks and draw extra attention from opponents night in and out.

Mackenzie Forgione (6-0, Sr.) is a senior with great size and control in the post. She has the length, skill-set, and IQ to continue her playing career at the next level after high school. Coach Seymour says that Forgione is one of the team leaders and is always putting in extra effort and never complains. She is the type of player that pushes others to improve as well. Paige Langley (So.) is a skilled ball handler and floor general. Langley has a bright future ahead after a great freshman year. Look for her to get her teammates involved and take advantage of scoring opportunities for herself when they’re presented.

As a first year coach with the program Seymour will look to be adaptive and play with different lineups throughout the year. Players to look for include: Leeannne Havir (Sr.), Mandy Simpson (Sr.), Sierah Williams (Sr.), Cameron Anderson (Jr.), Kamryn Bacon (Jr.), Madison Walkup (Jr.), Reese Watson (Jr.), Winnie Zhang (Jr.), Mimi White (Jr.), Brooklyn Albin (So.), Trinity Bryant (So.), Addison Dodder (So.), Emily Feldman (So.), Chloe Graves (So.), Braylyn Griffitts (So), Kylie Huckabaa (So.), Kennedy Joiner (So.), Paige Langley (So.), Madelyn Ortwein (So.), Teylor Smith (So.), Jada Stabler (So.), and Taryn Whitten (So.).
