Tulsa Tech offers a variety of programs that help students get a head start on many different careers. Some of the programs include Architecture and Construction, Finance, Health Science, and Information Technology among others. CJ Trook is a senior at Edison Preparatory School and she is also a student at Tulsa Tech, where she is in a program that fits with what she loves.
“I am in the Multimedia Design Assistant program at Tulsa Tech,” she said. “I have always enjoyed drawing and making creative things so it seemed like a perfect fit.”
Trook first heard about Tech when she was having a conversation with her parents. After she learned more about it she knew it was something she would like to do.
“My parents were the ones that introduced me to Tulsa Tech,” CJ said. “And when I checked out their website and saw all the programs they offer, I was definitely interested.”
As a student at Tulsa Tech, Trook says that she would recommend it to anyone that sees a program that fits what they want to do.
“I would tell them to do it,” she said. “It is fun and you will not regret it. It is preparing me for life after high school. I am planning on joining the Marines and I am learning how to create handouts and things for the military.”
As a student at Edison, CJ runs cross country plays in the band, and is a member of the JROTC. She says that the moments before they compete are what she likes the most.
“I enjoy the feeling you get when you get onto the pad before you start to march,” she said. “It’s like there are butterflies in your stomach and you feel like you’re going to puke but you also know that you’re going to do great. I also enjoy the practices and the end of the competition. Watching all of my fellow cadets working hard to improve their skills and seeing how it all pans out in the competition just makes me feel good inside.”
