Giving it her best is something that Victory Christian sophomore Jael Rice strives for every day. Jael loves cheerleading, having cheered for 4 years thus far. Jael states, “This is my first year at All-Star Cheer, competing for Spirit Xplosion in the Level 4 Seniors team. Before this, I was a gymnast for 10 years training at level 8.”
When asked what her favorite part about cheering, Jael stated, “My favorite thing about cheer is the tumbling!”
Jael is a very humble person and gives credit to many people in her life that have inspired her. Jael stated, “I am grateful to my family and their legacy in gymnastics. I am also grateful to my high school cheer coach, Gerri Chandler. I am thankful for the training from my all-star coaches at Spirit. I am most influenced by Coach Brad Turner.”
Cheering is not the only sport that Jael participates in at Victory Christian, stating, “I also have competed in Track and Field, as well as Cross Country.”
Being in front of the crowd for Jael is not limited to her cheerleading. This can be witnessed by her favorite academic class at Victory Christian, which for her sophomore year is Theatre.
Faith plays a vital role in Jael’s life. Each year she participates in Victory Christian Church’s Christmas and Easter productions, which she looks forward to each holiday. These performances are yet more ways Jael shows her talent in front of an audience.
Outside of school and her involvement in Church, Jael states, “I love traveling, and spending time with family and friends.”
After she has graduated from Victory Christian, Jael “definitely” plans to attend college and is “hoping to either cheer or compete in an Acro Tumble program.”
Jael’s passions in life can be summed up as Faith, Family, Academics, and Cheering; these passions will propel her future.
