Broken Arrow’s Lincoln Smith talks about his passion for basketball – Presented by Hayhurst Funeral Home

VYPE: What are your goals for this season? 

Lincoln: My goal this season is to win state.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life? 

Lincoln: My sport has taught me to work hard and to not give up when faced with adversity.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Lincoln: My favorite teacher is Mr. Cagle from 10th grade English. He made every class fun and cared for his students.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Lincoln:  My dad inspires me because he is a hard worker and is always there for me even when life gets tough.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why? 

Lincoln: Sam Keller because he has a good attitude on and off the court and it is always a battle with him in practice because of how hard he works.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?  

Lincoln:  My favorite part about being on a team is the relationships I build off the court with my teammates. They’re like family. 

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you? 

Lincoln: The Bahamas and I’m taking my friends and family with me. 

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Lincoln: I’m passionate about my sport because I have built a lot of friendships through it and I want to win. 

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish. 

Lincoln: I want to say thank you to my parents for always providing for me and letting me play basketball for BA, and to my coaches for not giving up on me after my surgeries.
