Coweta

Coweta’s Macee Matthews shares her favorite part of being on a team – Presented by Chris Mathurin State Farm

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Macee: My goals for this season are to become closer with my team, be a better leader, and make a run postseason.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Macee: My sport has taught me to never give up and to fight through adversity.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Macee: My favorite teacher I’ve had is Mr. Kern, my AP European History teacher. He makes learning fun and never fails to make us laugh.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Macee: My dad inspires me because he only has one hand and he doesn’t let that get in the way of his everyday life.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Macee: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Justice Austin. She’s been fighting an ankle injury for over a year and she’s shown me never to give up and to always come back.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Macee: My favorite part about being on a team is the relationships you build. My team is like my family.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Macee:  For a summer vacation I would go to the beach somewhere and I would take some of my best friends from my AAU team and some of my best friends from Coweta.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Macee:  I’m passionate about my sport because it’s become a part of my everyday life. I eat, sleep, and breathe basketball and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Macee:  I want to say thank you to all my coaches and trainers for getting me to where I am today. And thank you to my parents for always supporting me.
