VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Katy: My goals for this season are to get first in our district and make it to state!

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Katy: Soccer has taught me many things throughout my years, but the most important that I use outside of soccer is teamwork and leadership!

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Katy: My favorite teacher has to be my strength and conditioning teacher, Mrs. Hassenplug! She has taught me patience and kindness, and is always someone I can talk to about anything!

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Katy: My dad inspires me the most because he is the strongest, kindest, most caring person I know. He has encouraged and pushed me to the point that I am at today and I do not know what I would do without his guidance.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Katy: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Ashley Meyers. She always pushes me to work hard and never give up, even when giving up seems like an easier option. She is always supportive of everything I do and gives the best advice. She is not only one of the best friends I have, but also will always be one of the best teammates a person will ever have.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Katy: The best part about being on a team is the friendships they create. You meet different people from all over, and you know that you still have at least one thing in common. You have the opportunity to build a family-like bond with your teammates and they can end up becoming some of your best friends.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Katy: I would want to go to Italy, and I would bring my family and my best friend, Hannah.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Katy: I am passionate about my sport because it has taught me very valuable life lessons, it has brought me so much joy, and it has given me so many unbreakable bonds.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Katy: Thank you to my family and friends for never giving up on me, pushing me to be a better person, and giving me the best support system. I also want to thank all of my coaches throughout the years, specifically Coach Brett Kolman for having so much faith in me, pushing me to be a better player and teammate, and shaping me into the player I am today. I couldn’t have done it without you! Also, a big thank you to Coach Chilcoat for the past four years we have been together. You are an amazing coach and an amazing person! You have pushed me to new limits, made me try new things, and have always pushed me even when I felt like giving up.
