Getting to know Coweta’s Connor Barnett – Presented by Arkansas Verdigris Valley Health Centers

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Connor: Baseball has taught me not to give up. If I make an error or have a bad game I need to keep focused, continue practicing, and let go of the negative thoughts.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Connor: I like being part of a team for the friendships with my teammates over the years.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Connor: My Mom because she never gives up on me and when I do make mistakes she tells me in a positive way how to improve and do better next time.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Connor: Baseball is a team sport but also challenging individually. I enjoy pushing myself each season to be a better player.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Connor: An Alaskan cruise with my family.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Connor: Mrs. Ross was my favorite teacher because she was so nice and truly cared about all of her students. You can tell she loved her job as a teacher.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Connor: Coweta is a very supportive town and I want to make the fans proud of our team and our accomplishments.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Connor: Chipper Jones because he loved the game and never let his fame get to him. He worked hard to come back from his injuries and he was a good teammate.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Connor: I want to thank my parents for always believing in me and pushing me to be the best person and player I can be. I have also had several great coaches so far and I appreciate all they have taught me.
