Tim Ebarb is in his first season as the head baseball coach of the Rejoice Chrisitan Eagles. Ebarb enjoys coaching but says that, for him, it is about more than just the game on the field.

“The thing I enjoy most about coaching is the development of relationships with players and coaches,” he said. “It’s an investment that has made my career most satisfying. I entered coaching because I viewed it as my ministry.  It was the way to fulfill God’s purpose for my life.  Instead of giving me a pulpit, the Lord provided me a baseball field and hundreds of lives to pour into.  I’m more concerned with training future husbands and dads than I am with developing great baseball players. God has graciously allowed me to do both, however.”

Throughout his coaching career, Tim has been influenced by a number of other coaches. Men that he says have helped him get to where he is today.
“I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by a number of great coaches who have made me not only a better coach but a better man,” he stated. “Wes Johnson, the current pitching coach at LSU, has been a great influence.  We coached together for 5 years in central Arkansas.  He taught me the importance of the mental side of the game.  Those who are mentally strong usually have the best chance to win. The other coach is Ron Bradley, a member of the Oklahoma Baseball Hall of Fame. I coached with coach Bradley for five years and he taught me the importance of seeing the value in every player.”

Ebarb has made some great memories with all the teams he has coached throughout the years. But there are a few that stand out as his favorite.

“I suppose the greatest highlight of my career was winning a state championship with my oldest son, Colby, during his senior year in 2018 at Har-Ber High School in Springdale, Arkansas. My first state championship in 2006 at Abundant Life in Sherwood, Arkansas will always be special to me. I am probably proudest of my 2009 team who although we were defeated in the semifinals, that group overcame a great deal of adversity and exceeded expectations.”
