Cascia Hall’s Cooper Lai – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Corey Else – National Scouting Report

Cooper Lai is a dual sport athlete for the Cascia Hall Commandos. And he works hard to be ready to compete in both football and baseball seasons. He says that work is an important part of being his best, but so are the people he surrounds himself with.

“For me to be successful, it has taken consistent work and accountability,” Lai said. “I am motivated by God, my family, and my community. I want to become successful so that I can gain a platform to glorify God and so I can represent my last name and where I come from.”

A senior, Cooper has made many memories during his time playing for the Commandos, but he has one game that stands out as his favorite memory.

“I think the highlight of my career so far is beating our rival Holland Hall during my senior year,” he stated. “I also always enjoy our games against Victory Christian the most because they are very confident and they always fight hard to make it a good game.”

Like a lot of high school athletes around the country, Lai has a goal to compete at the next level. Though some may find the process difficult at times, Cooper has found an opportunity with National Scouting Report that has helped him navigate the process.

“My experience with NSR has been very good,” he said. “They have helped me a lot with recruiting by not only getting me exposure but also giving me advice during certain situations.”

Cooper’s coaches and teammates have also played a big role in him becoming the athlete and person that he is today. He says that there are a few that have made a bigger impression.

“Coach Medina has been a great teacher and coach and he has been very influential in my life,” Lai stated. “I enjoy working against my teammate Baxter Robertson because he challenges me. He is very fast and physical. Another teammate, Vincent Peters is underappreciated on my team for the number of things he is able to do. He is one of the smartest guys on the field but also very effective at center and defensive line.”

Outside of sports, Cooper is also involved in the Young Men’s Service League.
