Owasso’s Trinity Gray – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Daniel Buttram-Keller Williams

Trinity Gray is a junior at Owasso High School and is excited to hit the soccer field this spring with the Lady Rams. Soccer has been a lifelong passion for Gray who first took up the sport when she was around seven years old. Over the years Gray has been putting in a lot of hard work and dedication both on and off the field to improve and her willingness to go the extra mile has not gone unnoticed by those in Owasso. Coaches have been impressed not only by Gray’s skills, but also her leadership capabilities on the field and the way keeps teammates involved throughout the game.

“She has an old soul and is very grown up,” Lady Rams head coach Sam Bowers said. Bowers continued that Gray while is one of the best athletes at Owasso High School, it is her competitive drive, determination, and composure that really stand out.

Gray will be starting for the third year in a row at the crucial center back position on the varsity roster. Although there’s a lot of responsibility at the position, Gray said she enjoys reading the field and directing her teammates’ movements from the back line.

Right now Gray said the goal for her and her teammates is to work hard and make a strong push throughout the year.

“Our goal is to peak at the right time,” Gray said, now an upperclassman who had some words of advice to her younger teammates. “Stay humble and stay hungry. You only get as much as you put in. Everything is earned, not given.”

Gray has been following her own advice and trains hard throughout the year. For her, soccer is not a seasonal sport and she takes her training and conditioning regimens very seriously.

“In the off-season I usually use my breaks to travel to Warner Robins, Georgia to train with Speed Edge Sports and Mark Taylor. In Oklahoma I train with Samba Elite and Felipe Guedes,” Gray said. “This past summer I asked the Lady Rams Basketball Team if I could train with them and they welcomed me, too.”

After high school Gray plans on playing soccer at the collegiate level and wants to study medicine.
