Collinsville’s Parker Knight is just getting started in high school softball journey.
The freshman is ready to make an impact for head coach Kylee Cole and the Cardinals.
“Parker is a kid who works hard, even when nobody is looking. “‘Content’ is not a word that I would use to describe Parker Knight’s work ethic,” Cole said. “She approaches new challenges head on and is determined to master them.”
Knight is focused on improving each day and helping Collinsville make a deep run this season.
“Getting better every play and every game,” she said. “Making it to state with my team, and the memories I will be making with my team.
“I feel like I have much more confidence on the field. Also working on my slapping skills.”
Knight points to her summer coach as her biggest influence when it comes to the game of softball.
“Coach John Edmonson pushes me harder every play and will do anything for our team no matter what it is,” Knight said.
Knight hit .578 and had a .900 fielding percentage as an eighth grader. She also played on the Collinsville Junior High basketball team and competed in track. In the classroom, she finished with a 4.0 grade point average.
