Sapulpa

Q&A with Sapulpa’s Elizabeth Trosper – Presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance – Chad Haberman

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Elizabeth: My personal goals are to develop as a leader and continue to do well hitting and in the field. For the team, my goals are to finish out the season well and make it to the state tournament.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Elizabeth: Softball has taught me how to learn from setbacks and look towards the future. It has also taught me that hard work pays off!

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Elizabeth: Two of my favorite teachers ever have been Mrs Lloyd, my sophomore English teacher and Mrs Brown, my sophomore chemistry teacher. Mrs Lloyd taught me a lot about writing and I loved her teaching style, and Mrs Brown’s class was really fun and I learned a lot.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Elizabeth: My grandparents are some of my biggest inspirations. They have had to endure a lot with their upbringings, and they worked extremely hard for what they have. They teach me how to be faithful, and also how to be creative and make the most out of every moment.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Elizabeth: Two teammates that have left big impressions on me are Daniah Blation and Makayla Littlebear. They are two years older than me, and ever since I was a sixth grader, they made me feel welcome and encouraged me to do my best. They always give their best effort in practice and games and never hesitate to support their teammates. They graduated last year, and I miss playing with both of them so much!

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Elizabeth: My favorite part about being on a team is having people to rely on all the time and have your back, and also having someone to make some of the best memories of your life with!

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Elizabeth: My dad did play football, basketball, and track in high school, but I would say that the best athletes in my family are my grandpa and my uncle. My grandpa played college basketball, and my uncle Ryan played college golf.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Elizabeth: My school doesn’t have either of these, but I think either rowing or swimming would be something I’d like to try. Volleyball seems like it would be fun too.

VYPE: What profession would you like to work in?

Elizabeth: I know I definitely want to work somewhere in the health/medical field. I’m interested in the physical therapy field as well as pharmacy, but I haven’t decided for sure yet.
