VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Alexis: My goals for this year are to have a good mindset and keep my mental thoughts and mental toughness.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Alexis: Playing volleyball has taught me to forget about how you messed up and just focus on trying to be better and working together more as a team.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Alexis: My favorite teacher is Coach Phillips. He has always been there for me and he has helped me and talked to me through hard times and made my day better.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Alexis: My nieces are my inspiration. I aspire to be all three of their role models and for them to look up to me. They always make me so happy when I’m with them and would love to be an inspiration to them.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Alexis: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Tara. She has always been there for me and I want to be a better player and take her position when she graduates this year. Tara has always been a good friend, and a good friend in soccer as well.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Alexis: My favorite part about being on the team is getting to play and make connections with everyone else.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Alexis: In my family the best athlete is either me or my little brother. Both me and my brother, Lane, love our sports and they’re our lives. I believe he can go D1 for football and I believe I could go D1 for soccer.
VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Alexis: One sport I wish I could play would be basketball. It’s one of the sports I have never played and I think it would be a cool experience.
VYPE: What profession would you like to work in?
Alexis: The profession I would like to pursue is to go D1 for soccer. That has been a dream of mine for about 10 years.
