Coweta’s Cade Ellison – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Redbud Physical Therapy

Cade Ellison will be an important part of Coweta’s basketball team and head coach Matt
Watson in 2023-24.
Watson considers his 6-foot-3 senior guard as underrated and among the best players in
Class 5A.

“Cade is a silky scorer and underrated player who will be among the best players in 5A this
season,” Watson said.
“I want to prove everyone that doubted us wrong and to make a run in the state
tournament,” Ellison said.
Ellison, who says being named a team captain going into this season has been a big moment
for him, has worked to get more balanced with his overall game. Shooting, bringing energy
and sharing the ball are what he considers his strengths.
“I’ve improved being able to get to the rim and not just rely on my shooting,” he said.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been a big influence on Ellison,
who has his eyes on playing sports at the collegiate level and has had a handful of colleges
in Oklahoma reach out to him.
