GIRLS
Coach: Amanda Ott Henderson
22-23 Record: 4-22Last season did not go as the Lady Indians had hoped, but as they come into a new season, third year head coach Amanda Henderson is optimistic about this season’s team. “We are going to look like a whole new squad this year,” Henderson stated. “Freshmen standouts from last year, Jacque Cornwell and Tinsley Mitchell, return with a varsity season under their belt. Three key juniors return from their freshmen year. We plan to execute on our speed and up our game.
We have a tough schedule with our regular conference and adding Verdigris and Skiatook this year.” Ta’nei West (5-8, Jr.) is returning after taking a break to focus on academics her sophomore year. She had a stellar freshman year and looks to pick up where she left off. She has great intensity and effort that is hard to match. West has great hands, runs the floor well, and knows the game. Another impact player from last season that will do the same this season is Tinsley Mitchell (5-6, So.). Mitchell led the team in scoring, rebounds, assists, and steals as a freshman and has a great jump shot and is a true floor general. Jacque Cornwell (5-3, So.) works hard every single day. She has natural athletic ability, is improving her shot, and constantly trying to get better. Bringing energy to the team is Lexi Buckmaster (5-10, Jr.). She is the true spirit and leader of her team. She leads the team on and off the court and constantly is concerned and worried about her teammates and the best of our team. Other Lady Indians that will look to contribute this season are Kloie Bristol (5-6, Fr.), Irelynd Shew (5-1, So.), Amberly Walker (5-4, Sr.), Alexes Ertman (5-5, Jr.), Omare Dale (5-1, Sr.), Hadley McGrew (5-6, So.), and Amber Lucero (6-0, So.)
