CATOOSA INDIANS
BOYS
Coach: Evan Drake
22-23 Record: 20-7
The Indians are coming off of a season that saw them advance to the Area tournament before bowing out. This season, head coach Evan Drake is looking for his team to make a deeper run in the postseason. “We bring back a lot of talent from last season,” Drake said. “I am expecting us to be fighting for a spot in the state tournament by the end of the season.” One of the key players for the Indians this season will be Titus Miller (6-6, Sr.) who will be playing the wing. Coach Drake says that Titus will be playing basketball at the next level, as he is already getting looks from a number of colleges. “Titus is our best player,” he said. “He currently holds multiple college offers including Air Force, Southwestern, Evangel, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Last year, Miller averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one block. He is a tall wing who excels at shooting three pointers.
Titus is our vocal leader and an outstanding young man.” Another returning player to keep an eye out for is forward Braxton Rep (6-4, Jr.), who had a 14 point and six rebound average last season. Luke Beauchamp (6-0, Sr.) and Sutton Woods (6-4, Jr.) will both be playing the guard position. Last season, they combined for 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game a year ago. They will be called on to make a bigger impact on the court for the Indians this season. Playing center this season is Kanen Bristol (6-2, Sr.) and he will work to be a force in the middle. Other members of the team that are expected to play a role in the season are CJ Haydon (6-3, Sr.), Tylan Rodgers (6-3, Sr.), Ethan Bowen (6-8, Jr.), and Chance Handley (6-0, Jr.). Assistant coaches for coach Drake are Wes Hammons, Caleb Nibbelink, and Logan McCawley.
