Jayelle Austin
Owasso High School
Jayelle Austin is a junior at Owasso High School and a member of the varsity basketball team. Austin said the team is ready to get back on the court and get the season started.

“The team is coming together very good. Our team chemistry is great. I love how hardworking and encouraging each of my teammates are. They are always cheering people on and working to get better for the team,” said Austin.

Being a student-athlete at OHS is something Jayelle said she loves because if the support the players receive from other athletes in different sports.

Austin said the goal this season is the same as every season at Owasso, get to the state tournament.

The post player is involved in other activities including National Honor Society and her favorite subject is math.

“My favorite subject is math, and my favorite teacher is coach Desandre,” said Austin.

The future for Austin includes attending college and playing softball for the Oklahoma State Cowgirls. Austin would like to become a veterinarian after college.

During her free time she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and playing card games.

Look for Jayelle and the Lady Rams this season as they chase their third state basketball title in school history.
