Sapulpa’s Skyler Hodge E-Sports Spotlight Presented by Reed Architecture and Interiors

One area of the high school experience growing in popularity are e-sports teams. Most of your big schools have them and they are competing against other teams across the state.
This effort has made teams like the one in Sapulpa a contender. Skyler Hodge is a senior at Sapulpa High School and he’s a member of the e-sports team. He joined the team when he entered high school and competes in the Madden football game.

“I joined the Sapulpa e-sports team my freshman year,” said Hodge. “I love seeing my teammates every day and practicing with them.”
Having the opportunity to showcase his skills and compete while representing his school has been a great experience for Hodge and his teammates.

“What I enjoy the most about competing is seeing other Madden players and getting to meet,” said Hodge.

The senior said he gets support from his mother and said anyone interested in joining the team do what makes them happy.

“My mom has been the biggest influence on me. She’s always been my number one supporter. My advice would be to follow your dreams and do what makes you happy and that you can make a good career out of e-sports,” said Hodge.

While turning pro is every gamers dream, Hodge said he would like to pursue a career in IT.
Away from school and competition, Hodge said he enjoys playing Call of Duty or
Borderlands.
