There are a lot of decisions that parents have to make for their children throughout their lifetime. One of them is choosing the school that they will attend. While this can be a tough decision for some, Traci Hogan says that she knows she made the right decision.
“Catoosa Public Schools has been a great school for our daughters,” she said. “The teachers and school staff are some of the best. I love the small community and the support all the families give to each other. It’s like every parent is a parent to all the kids, encouraging and cheering them on.”
Hogan is the mother of two daughters, Clara and Heather. Clara is a junior at Catoosa. She plays volleyball and soccer for the Indians, and also plays club volleyball. Heather graduated last year and she was a trainer for both volleyball and wrestling. She is now attending the University of Arkansas.
Traci is a Travel Specialist for the QuikTrip Corporation, where she has worked for 29 years. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling with her family and friends to see new places and meet new people. She also loves to attend sporting events. Her favorites are the Catoosa Indians, and also the Packers, Chiefs, Sooners, and now the Razorbacks. She is also the current President of the Volleyball Booster Club.
She loves that her kids are involved in athletics and Hogan says that it does more than just help them become better athletes.
“I believe it’s very important for student athletes to have a good balance between school, sports, family, and time for themselves,” she said. “I think being involved in sports makes a kid grow into a better adult. It teaches them to be a part of a team to accomplish a bigger goal. It also teaches them that sometimes they’re going to mess up, but to pick themselves back up and continue on to do the best they can. But life isn’t all about sports, having downtime and family time is a good mental and physical break.”
