Tharyn Hausler
Bixby High School
Expectations are growing for the Bixby wrestling program and one wrestler looking to make the most of the season is junior Tharyn Hausler.
Hausler will compete at 150-pounds this season and he is looking forward to duals and tournaments.
“The goal for this season is to win the state championship as a team and individually. We have been working very hard in practice and are determined to bring home the title. The team is coming together really well. We have a strong bond and have been training together for a while now. Everyone is motivated and focused on achieving our goals, so I’m confident in our ability to perform at a high level,” said Hausler.
Representing Bixby is something Hausler is proud to do.
“What I love most about being a student-athlete at Bixby is the sense of camaraderie and teamwork. It’s amazing to be a part of a group that pushes each other to be the best we can be. The thing I love most about my teammates is their dedication and support. We are like a family, always there for each other, both in and out of the sport,” said Hausler.
Off the mat, Hausler remains focused on his classroom work and said he has a couple of favorites he really enjoys.
“My favorite subject is math, particularly Geometry. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Coffey she really helped me stay engaged and helped me to best understand the topic,” said Hausler.
The future 2025 graduate hopes to wrestle in college while continuing his education at the next level. In his free time, Hausler said he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
