Ivy Huff

Bixby High School

Bixby dance team member Ivy Huff is a sophomore this year and has enjoyed every moment this season as a member of the team. Huff joined the dance team when she was a freshman and representing Bixby High School is something special.

“What I love most about being a Bixby student-athlete is that I can continue to build amazing friendships in the classroom and within my team while determined to work hard,” said Huff.

It’s been a great season for the dance team and Huff said being part of the football games made for great memories.

“My favorite memory so far this year has been football! I enjoy getting ready with my teammates before the game and then watching the timer hit 0:00 as we win!  I also have loved watching the intense games between Bixby and Jenks,” said Huff.

Huff said she has some great teammates, and she loves being around them.

“What I love most about my teammates is that we can always be ourselves but also have a drive to dance. There is constant positivity and laughter.”

As a student, Huff said her favorite subject in school is English.

“I have always loved to write, especially about things that I am passionate about. Mrs. Gilman is the teacher, and she does an amazing job of teaching students new techniques to writing,” said Huff. “After I graduate, I would love to continue to dance but also attend the University of Oklahoma and major in BSN to become a nurse.”

Huff points to her mother as someone who has been a big influence in her life.

“My biggest influence is my mom. She constantly works hard at everything she does. She has always pushed me to never give up and has been the biggest encouragement for me. She has always taught me to focus on the little things in life.” In her free time, Huff said she usually spends it dancing, but she also loves going on walks, grabbing some ice cream with family and hanging out with her friends.
