Union’s Helena Lindsey – Golf Spotlight – Presented by Tour Quality Golf

Helena Lindsey

Union High School

Union High School senior Helena Lindsey is not your average high school golfer. The Union student-athlete will represent the Redhawks this season on the course and she is excited to elevate her game to a new level.

“I have played golf for nine years. I’ve been on the union golf team since the 7th grade,” said Lindsey.

During her time on the team, Lindsey has worked hard to be one of the top players at Union and in Class 6A. As with any sport at Union HS, expectations are always high and it’s something Lindsey has embraced.

“My goal for this season is to stay focused and keep my scores in the 80s. The team is coming together really well. We are close and enjoy playing together. We have been working really hard and hope to make state as a team this year,” said Lindsey.

Also a member of the varsity pom squad, Lindsey said she loves her teammates and being part of this team. Representing Union High School and her classmates is something she loves to do.

“I love how close my team is. They are so fun to be around, always encouraging, and are the best people to play golf with. The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at Union is all the friends I’ve made because of both pom and golf,” said Lindsey.

Lindsey said she enjoys all of her classes and is making plans for her future which will include attending college next year.

“I don’t have a favorite subject in school, but my favorite class was physiology last year, I loved dissecting the cat second semester. I also loved the teacher Mr. Moran,” said Lindsey. “I want to be a labor and delivery nurse. I plan to go to college after high school, though I have not decided where I want to go yet.”

In her free time, Lindsey said you can find her reading, doing puzzles, and watching television.
