We caught up with Charles Page High School basketball player Micah Betchan to discuss the team and his goals for the season.

VYPE: Micah, how is the team coming together now that the season is underway?

Betchan: Our team is coming together pretty good. We’re going to be good this season.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Charles Page HS?

Betchan: My favorite thing about my teammates is that they all play hard and put forth effort.

VYPE: Entering the season, the Sandites were coming off a 10-13 season. So, what is the goal for this season?

Betchan: My goal is to make the most with the minutes I get and play to my fullest.

VYPE: What grade are you in this year and what position does coach Savage have you playing?

Betchan: I’m in the 10th grade and coach Savage has me playing point guard and shooting guard.

VYPE: Do you play any other sports or belong to any clubs or groups at school?

Betchan: No, not at this time. Just basketball.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or have a favorite teacher?

Betchan: My favorite subject in school is math and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Graves.

VYPE: It’s a few years away, but have you given any thought to what you would like to do after you graduate?

Betchan: After I graduate, I want to play college ball somewhere and get a good education.

VYPE: When you’re not on the court or working on your studies, what does Micah Betchan like to do with his free time?

Betchan: In my free time I get up shots and hangout with my family.

VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Charles Page High School?
