Everyone works hard to be the best at what they do. While the amount and type of work that is required may differ, the fact that you have to be invested to be your best is always the same.
Logan McGuire is an athlete at Sperry High School. He says that you cannot be half hearted if you want to be at the top of your game.
“To be successful at baseball takes an unimaginable amount of dedication and hard work,” McGuire stated. “From watching your nutrition, weight training, lots and lots of practice, many, many hours spent at the Sperry Academy since I was eight. Many hours of lessons plus even more hours working on my own practicing what I was taught in lessons at home.”
The senior has played multiple sports throughout his career, but he says that he has had a favorite sport for a while.
“I have played baseball, football and basketball,” he stated. “But from an early age I figured out baseball was my main love.” There have been a number of people that have had an impact on Logan’s life and helped shape him into the person that he
is today.
“Some of the biggest influences in my life have been Bobby Bundy, Dylan Bundy and Denver Bundy, in no particular order,” McGuire said. “They have taught me everything I know about baseball. They have been a huge influence in my life since I was eight years old. They have pushed me and helped me to be the best I can be day in and day out. Also a special thank you to Coach Wolf for taking me in and treating me like his own and helping make me a better person on the field and in the classroom. Also for making math easy that should be hard.”
Anytime he steps onto the field to compete, Logan says that it is an honor to wear his school name and colors.
“It means everything to me to be able to play the sport I love and represent Sperry,” he said. “I hope to be able to make Sperry proud and help my team any way I can to bring home the next state championship.”
