Catoosa Indians Wrestling Preview – Presented by Rib Crib

Coach Mike Clevenger is ready to get his team on the mat as he returns a plethora of wrestlers with state tournament experience. 

Coming into the season the Catoosa Indians are ranked No. 8 in Class 4A according to OWrestle.com. 

Gunner Wilson (So.) is the No. 1 ranked wrestler and defending state champion at 215-pounds. Wilson won the crown at 220-pounds and is looking to become a back-to-back champion. 

Corban Zugelder (Sr.) placed third at 126-pounds last season and is hungry for more. Zugelder has the talent to climb the podium and compete for a state title. He is currently ranked No. 2 at 126-pounds behind sophomore Miles Velasquez of Cascia Hall who won the Class 3A title at 126 as a freshman. 

Other wrestlers of note for Catoosa include state qualifiers Fernando Dominguez (Jr.) at 138-pounds, Caleb Spencer (Sr.) at 157-pounds, Corey Chilcoat (Sr.) at 165-pounds, Tucker Collinsworth (Jr.) at 120-pounds, and JP Esquivel (Jr.) at 106-pounds. 

DID YOU KNOW

Dallas Bailey is Catoosa’s only four-time state champion. Dallas is the son of Leo Bailey, former three-time state champion at Bixby High School. 

The first state champion at Catoosa was Jerry Keeter who won the Class 2A title at 123-pounds in 1973.
