VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
Jacquelyn: To do the best of my ability for the team and myself.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Jacquelyn: It taught me to not give up and try as hard as you can because I formally started playing basketball last year and I made a decision to not give up and try my absolute hardest.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Jacquelyn: My favorite teacher was Miss Frycs from my 6th grade year at Edison. She was the nicest teacher I ever had and we talked every single day after school for two years. She always listened to what I had to say if it was about school or my family life.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Jacquelyn: My family inspires me to do my best. I have cousins who always played basketball and made it far. My goal is to be like them and go far from basketball. Brandy Cornwell, Johnny Cornwell.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Jacquelyn: Lexi and Zoe from my high school team are the best leaders I ever had on a team. I look up to both of them. They both listen to me and constantly make me laugh. I got very comfortable around them fast. I can’t wait to spend the season with them.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Jacquelyn: My favorite part about being on the team is all the teammates. We all get along very well and we always laugh together and have fun talks. I love my team and I’m very excited for the season with them.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Jacquelyn: I really want to visit Seoul, Korea and try all the food there and go to a bunch of stores and shop with my mother (Hortencia Cornwell), father (Cary Cornwell), and sister (Grace Cornwell).
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Jacquelyn: I’m passionate about my sport because I’m a very competitive person and basketball is a very competitive sport. I find it so much fun to watch and even funner to play.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Jacquelyn: I want to thank coach Henderson for everything and coming into my life in 2020 when she taught and coached at Edison, and Coach Karr for teaching me everything I know about basketball, and of course my parents, who are the most loving and supportive parents anyone could ever ask for. Thank you. I love you all.
