Parents play a big role in the lives of their children. Along with just taking care of the necessities, they also make an impact on the kind of adults they will grow up to be. Misty Compton says that she makes keeping their priorities in order an important part of her kids’ lives.
“In our house we stress faith first, family second, and grades and sports third,” she said. “I think kids today need to stay active and be involved in all they can. I love everything about sports and don’t miss any games or events. I love to volunteer my time to all the young athletes.”
Compton has three kids and they all attend Catoosa Public Schools. Her oldest, Michael Blendowski is a junior and plays football and soccer and wrestles. Matthew Compton also plays football and soccer and wrestles as a freshman. Her youngest, Madison Compton is in middle school and she is a cheerleader and plays soccer.
The community of Catoosa the place where Misty has raised her kids and that is something that she loves.
“I love that it is a small community and most of the parents know each other,” Compton said. “My kids have been here since pre-K and it’s only grown for the better.”
Misty has worked at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for fifteen years and is currently a wardrobe associate. With what little free time she has, she says that she enjoys kicking back on the beach or just spending time with her family. Along with her job, Misty also volunteers for youth athletics.
“I am the Cheer Director for Catoosa Youth Sports and help as a volunteer with the Middle School Cheer squad,” she said. “I’m a grade rep for juniors with Catoosa Football and the communication rep on the Catoosa Soccer board. Along with serving at my church on Sundays.”
