VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Shayne: Sports have helped me learn how to stay disciplined and focused, while also helping me understand how to overcome challenges and adversity.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Shayne: My favorite part about being on a team are the friendships formed and learning how to work as a collective unit.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Shayne: I am passionate about softball because I like the strategy of the game and the lifelong impact it’ll have on me as a person.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Shayne: My big sister inspires me. She inspires me because she is an All-Stater, and that motivates me to become like her.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Shayne: My favorite teacher is my 8th grade Public Speaking teacher/History teacher, Mrs. Bullock. She is my favorite because we built a strong relationship since I saw her for two hours a day, and she has always been there to listen to me.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Shayne: My teammate Jasmine Byrum has left the biggest impact on me because she leads the team in many ways and inspires us to work our hardest.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Shayne: The after game meals we get on the way back are fun because I get to hangout with my team.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Shayne: I started playing T-ball when I was four years old. Softball has always been a big deal in my family.
