One of the more dominant players in the area, Zac Brown of Collinsville High School is looking forward to his senior season with the Cardinals.
“The thing I love the most about being a student-athlete at Collinsville is the amount of support from everyone in the school,” said Brown.
At 6-foot-9, Brown is a natural at center or forward. Last season Brown averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds a game. Head coach Todd Anderson said of Brown, “he’s a great scorer with his back to the basket, has worked hard all summer developing his perimeter skills, capable of stepping out and making three-point shots.”
Brown said the team is ready to take the court and see what they can accomplish this season.
“The thing I love most about my teammates is that we are like a family, and we all hang out together,” said Brown. “We have worked very hard in the offseason to prepare for a great year. The goal is to win the state tournament.”
Away from the court, Brown is a member of National Honor Society and said his favorite subject in school is math and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Johnson.
Brown said once his playing days at Collinsville HS come to an end and he leaves the friendly halls after graduation, Brown plans to attend Missouri S&T where he will continue his playing career in college.
As for his free time? Brown said he enjoys being around his friends.
“I enjoy spending my free time hanging out with friends, going to the gym, and fishing.”
