Oologah’s Taz Cagle – Soccer Spotlight – Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint

Throughout the career of an athlete, they have moments that are special to them. It could be a team accomplishment or a personal achievement, but either way, it creates a moment that the athlete will not soon forget. Taz Cagle has a moment like that which stands out as his favorite of his time playing soccer.
“The highlight moment of my career was a game against Tulsa McLain,” he recalled. “I had two goals and two assists. It was extremely fun to play that game and I got to play alongside my great teammates.”

Cagle is a junior at Oologah High School, where he plays as a midfielder and winger for the Mustangs’ soccer team. Outside of sports, he is also involved in Family Career and Community Leaders of America, where he serves as the vice president of Public Relations and Community Service.

Along with all the work that he has invested in his game, Taz says that there are people in his life that have been impactful to him and who he has become.

“My role model is my brother Hans,” Cagle stated. “He pushes me to be the best and sticks up for me no matter what. My family always motivates me to be better. We are always challenging each other to be the best person we can be. Also, one of my teachers that has made a difference in my life is Mr. Baker. He has had the biggest impact on my life because he has helped me with not just school work but also in life.”

When he steps out on the field with his teammates, Cagle knows they are ready to compete with whoever is on the other side. But he says he does have one team that he enjoys going up against the most.

“I enjoy beating Catoosa because it is always a close and competitive game,” he said. “It is very challenging but fun to play against their team.”
