Coach: Paige Wadley
21-22 Record: 9-14
Last season was a tough one for the Rejoice Christian Lady Eagles, but they are ready to put it behind them and start fresh this season. Fifth-year head coach, Paige Wadley likes how her team is built and thinks they have a shot to make some noise this season. “We have a good mixture of experienced players and a large group of underclassmen,” Wadley said. “I think we will do well this year with several offensive threats, mixed with some lockdown defenders.”
A leader on the team this season will be Lexi Henson (Sr.). She is an incredible player and a very solid point guard. She is known for her quick shot at the perimeter and behind the arc. She has really matured over the years as a player and is very respected on the court. She has expanded her game, finishing well at the rim off the drive, and has a deadly floater about three to five feet out. She is also a straight-A student, volunteers as numerous events, and is a leader in the school in many areas. Kristin Limerick (Sr.) is explosive on the court. She will make you pay for it if you play off of her with her long-range shot and can really dominate a game in the post, especially when it comes to cleaning up boards. She is a tremendous leader and pours into the younger players. She is an incredible student, involved in numerous organizations, and is extremely selfless and humble.
As an underclassman, Madison Hunnicutt (Fr.) is as well- rounded as a player as they come. Her broad shoulders and nearly 6-foot frame make it hard to stop her anywhere on the court. She is comfortable at this point, but you cannot leave her open as a shooter. She also uses her body well inside and can post up and score at any angle. She’s quick and moves well. Defensively she will wreak havoc on anyone she’s guarding with her speed and arm length. Another younger player that will see time this season, Anna Callery (So.) is an outstanding three-point shooter. If she has her feet set, she is usually going to shoot well over 50% most days from behind the arc. She is young, with lots of years to grow, but has an incredible skill set handling the ball and great instinct on the court.
Other players to watch for this season are Sarah Heiskell (Fr.), Emily Ingraham (So.), Sydney Leatherland (Fr.), Cassidy Hurst (Fr.), Liz Lake (Sr.), Kasia Hass (Jr.), Addy Plowman (Fr.), Layney Molini (So.), Grace Towers (So.), Colette Dobbins (Fr.), and Lilah Cariker (Fr.). Assistant coaches this season are Christie Wilson and Jason Wadley.
