Skiatook High School’s Tayhlor Elmore is a junior and a member of the varsity volleyball team as well as an active member in the FFA chapter.
Elmore first got involved in FFA when she was a freshman.
“I have been around the cattle industry my whole life. My parents are the ones that got me involved in everything I do today. They have been a huge part of my life and have encouraged me to do my best,” said Elmore.
Showing livestock has been part of her everyday life for as long as she can remember.
“Showing cattle has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I’ve shown a various amount of breeds but the ones I tend to stick to is Lim-flex and Red Angus. I have been involved in numerous activities in FFA but the ones that I strive to do good in are showing cattle and livestock judging. I enjoy making new memories with all my new and old friends that I have made throughout the years,” said Elmore.
Also a member of National Honor Society, Elmore takes her classwork just as serious and is one day looking forward to continuing her education in college.
“I graduate I plan on furthering my education at Oklahoma State University, getting my two years of basics then transferring over to Southwestern Oklahoma State University to get my pharmaceutical degree,” said Elmore.
Before she turns in her prep jersey for the college sweatshirt, Elmore is looking forward to more volleyball and more time in FFA.
“Something I love most about the program is how organized and put together the team is, it truly has made these past couple of years amazing. All of the amazing memories and laughs is something I love most about this team. Only being in this program for a couple of years has shown me that a team can really impact your life,” said Elmore.
The junior said anyone interested in FFA should give it a try.
“The best advice I can give someone who is wanting to become a member of the FFA is don’t be afraid to try new things and to be involved in this amazing organization,” said Elmore.
Elmore said her parents are the biggest influences in her life.
“Someone who’s been a big influence in my life is both of my parents, I can’t say one without the other. Ever since I can remember they have both been there for me no matter if it’s showing cattle or playing volleyball. I couldn’t say how much they both have influenced me.”
