Central High School’s Trey Johnson is a standout defensive specialist who has developed into a great player for the Braves.
Central head coach Kip Shaw said Johnson has come a long way since his freshman season.
“He has overcome a lot of adversity to become a great student, a great player, and a leader for this football program. His hard work paid off in the form of his first offer from Northern Iowa. Something that a couple of years ago he never thought would have happened,” said coach Shaw.
At 6-foot-2, 225-pounds, Johnson is a physical presence on the field at linebacker. His ability to play downhill and attack the football separates him from many of his peers. Johnson is the type of player you want on your football team.
Academics have become a focus for Johnson as well. In the classroom, Johnson is doing whatever it takes to increase his academic standing and prepare himself for the challenges of college.
As a player at Central High School, Johnson has quickly become the “talk of the tailgate,” which is a title that he may carry with him to the next level.
