Tulsa Memorial’s Liliana Ibarra – Presented by Midwest Sporting Goods

In the fast-paced world of soccer, Liliana Ibarra, a senior student at Tulsa Memorial High School, emerges as a versatile force on the field, playing as an attacking center midfielder, winger and occasionally as an outside back. Beyond the game, Liliana draws her motivation from the deeprooted desire to make her family proud and to forge her path as a successful and independent individual.

As Liliana reflects on her journey, she pays homage to the pillars of strength in her life: her mom and her aunt. “They are such strong women; I truly do not know where I would be if it weren’t for them. They have done so much for me to get where I am at today.”

In the realm of mentorship, Liliana highlights the pivotal role played by Coach Dover and Mrs. Williams. Coach Dover, a familiar presence since elementary school, has been witness to Liliana’s growth as both an individual and a player. “He has dealt with all my complaints and all my tears. He is always there to help me with my schoolwork if I ever need help and has always been there to listen to my problems.”

Mrs. Williams, though a recent influence, has made a profound impact, imparting valuable lessons and bringing joy into Liliana’s life. Looking toward the future, Liliana has committed to Northeastern State University, marking the next chapter in her soccer journey. As she reflects on memorable opponents, East Central stands out.

“We have a history of playing each other and always putting 100% on the field. It is always a good match.”

Within her team, Liliana finds inspiration in her friend Yaretzy, an amazing player who serves as a source of mutual motivation during practices.

Off the soccer pitch, Liliana is a multifaceted individual. As the student council president and the secretary for the National Honor Society, she embodies leadership and academic excellence.

In her personal interests, she looks up to Emma Chamberlain, admiring her podcasts, advice, coffee creations and sense of fashion.

As a proud member of the Chargers since middle school, Liliana takes immense pride in representing the same legacy her mom and aunt contributed to. It’s a connection that adds a layer of significance to her journey as she continues to make her mark on the soccer field and in every facet of her life.
