There is a lot that goes into being successful, no matter what field you are in. Whether it is the business world, family life, sports, or something else, it takes more than just showing up to be successful. Abigail Cue is a golfer for Daniel Webster High School and she knows what it takes to be her best.
“It takes a lot,” she said. “Practicing almost daily, going out, playing the sport, and making adjustments is what makes me successful in golf.”
A senior at Webster, Cue says that her family has played a big role in her life and helped her become a better athlete.
“The biggest influences in my life are my parents,” she said. “They have worked so hard to get to where they are now just for us and I am very proud of them. My family is a big motivation for me, as well as just wanting to get better and enjoy the sport more.”
On the golf course, Cue has enjoyed some great moments but she says that almost reaching a milestone is her favorite memory so far.
“The highlight of my career is when I almost broke 100 at a tournament,” she recalled. “I finished in the top thirty golfers of the day.”
While she competes against a number of different golfers each season, Abigail does not have one specific opponent that she enjoys going up against. But when she is not competing for the Warriors, she does have one person she wants to beat.
“I don’t have an opponent that I like to beat the most,” she said. “But the one person I would have to say I want to get better than is my dad.”
Along with being a member of the school’s golf team, Cue is also a part of the school’s band and she says that her band instructor has been an influence on her life.
“The teacher that had the most significant impact on me was my band teacher ms. Lancaster, she has been a big supporter in my life, whether that be college or golf.”
